Giving Back this Festive Season

This holiday season, MONPURE is giving back by collaborating with renowned London-based watercolour artist Bianca Timotheo, creating limited edition luxury gift box sets, adorned with her exclusive artwork - in support of our charity partner, the Little Princess Trust.

MONPURE's partnership with the Little Princess Trust is one that is extremely close to our hearts. We had the chance to talk to Liz, the charity’s Wig Fitter and Salon Relationship Coordinator, about her experience working with the Little Princess Trust.

Interview with Liz from the Little Princess Trust

The MONPURE and Little Princess Trust partnership is one very close to our hearts. Can you tell us more about the mission at the LPT?

“The LPT’s mission is to provide free, human hair wigs for medical hair loss sufferers from cancer. The charity also funds paediatric cancer research across the UK, into kinder cancer treatments for the little ones. We’re so grateful to MONPURE for the partnership that we’ve had with them, and look forward to working with them in the future.”

What is your role at the Little Princess Trust?

“My role at the Little Princess Trust is twofold. My first role is that I fit wigs for the young people who experience hair loss around the country in their private homes and in hospitals. I also help support the salon network that works with us across the UK and Ireland, helping all these young people who need new hair.”

How do you feel working with such an amazing charity?

“I feel really proud and very privileged to be able to work with the charity and help so many young people feel better about themselves.”

What inspired you to get into this line of work?

“The desire to help other people when it's such a complex issue losing your hair, people feel like they lose their personality, their confidence, and it really mattered to me to help young people feel better about themselves.”

What is the significance of the free real hair wigs for the Little Princess Trust's young beneficiaries?

“Personally, from seeing these young people first hand, they just want to feel ‘normal’ (whatever normal is), and they just want to fit into society without people staring at them and feeling different. This gives them the confidence to walk into the outside world and be who they want to be.”

Can you share one of your moment impactful experiences working with the Little Princess Trust?

There are so many to mention, where do I even start... Over the 15 year history that I’ve worked with the LPT, the most impactful thing I would say is watching the emotions on the face of the young person who’s received one of our beautiful wigs and feels great. That gives me such a lift emotionally and mentally to think that I've managed to make that young person feel a little bit better about themselves during the period of time where everything feels out of control.

Bianca Timotheo’s Inspiration and Message

We also wanted to hear from the artist, Bianca Timotheo, who created the magnificent designs for the exclusive holiday gift sets. We sat down with Bianca to discuss her artistic inspirations and what hair means to her.

What does hair mean to you?

“Hair is a form of self-expression. As a child I dreamt about dying my hair in different colours as much as I dreamt about being an artist or astronaut. Sometimes society can force you to grow up and leave aside colourful aspects of your personality in order to fit in; but I was always in search of loopholes that allowed me to express myself.”

What is the inspiration behind the artwork?

“After a 10 year hiatus from painting, my resurgence started with watercolours and my first artwork then was a galaxy. Not the usual subtle watercolour technique, it was bright and vibrant, which became my signature-style. It represents my aspirations as a child and how we should never let go of our sense of wonder to pursue our dreams. Let children never forget this.”

Don't forget that for every limited edition gift set sold, MONPURE will donate 15% of profits to The Little Princess Trust Charity.
