Key Ingredients

Camellia Tea Oil

Rich in Vitamins A, B, C and E, this essential oil delivers an intense hit of nourishment to neglected scalps and dull hair, stimulating hair follicles and enhancing the dermatological condition of the scalp. This powerful extract soothes itchiness and promotes healthy hair growth.

Lactic Acid / AHAs

In the epidermis, AHAs have an exfoliative effect, speeding up cell renewal and shedding dead skin cells collecting on the surface of the scalp. In the dermis, lactic acid helps stimulate collagen production, therefore making it an ideal active ingredient to counteract scalp and hair ageing. This powerful active ingredient works to foster the ideal environment for healthy hair to grow.

Aloe Vera

This succulent plant is full of polysaccharides, which hold powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It works to reduce transepidermal water loss, locking in moisture to dry scalps and soothing irritation.

THE HAIR GROWTH CYCLE

Have you ever wondered ‘how does hair grow?’. Hair on the scalp grows about 1cm per month in healthy individuals. Just like skin cells, our hair undergoes a cycle of growth, transition, rest and renewal. At any given time, hairs will independently cycle through one of three stages of growth: anagen, catagen, and telogen. The Follicle Boost Hair Density Serum works to enhance and target the natural hair growth cycle, extending the anagen (growth) phase, shortening length of the telogen (shedding) phase and stimulating dormant hair follicles with concentrated active ingredients.

Significantly reduced my hair loss and made my hair so soft, beautiful and voluminous. I will never stop buying!

Ingredients

Rich in Vitamins A, B, C and E, this antioxidant delivers an intense hit of nourishment to neglected scalps and dull hair, stimulating hair follicles and enhancing the dermatological condition of the scalp. Renowned for its ability to seal nourishment into the scalp and hair, this powerful extract soothes itchiness and promotes healthy hair growth.

This antibacterial active ingredient works to exfoliate and decongest hair follicles by promoting healthy cell renewal, creating the perfect environment for healthy hair growth. It also enhances shine and relieves dryness by washing away flakes and dead skin cells.

This succulent plant is full of polysaccharides, which hold powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It works to reduce transepidermal water loss, locking in moisture to dry scalps and soothing irritation.

addressing hair & scalp health at the root

Hormones

The relationship between hair and hormones starts as we are born and continues through every stage of life. From DHT to oestrogen, hormones play one of the most vital roles in our hair and scalp health. The hair growth cycle and the hair follicle structure are directly affected by the hormones in our bloodstream. Fluctuations in sex hormones, stress hormones and thyroid hormones all have various effects on the hair and scalp, and are often the culprits of sudden disruptions in their their health.

Stress

Stress compromises the health of your body in a variety of ways, the retention of your hair being one of them. Exposure to stress hormones over many weeks reduces hair growth as hair follicles remain in an extended telogen (resting) phase, a condition known as Telogen Effluvium, whereby up to 70% of growing hairs can abruptly shift into the resting phase (versus the normal 15% that elicits shedding before a new anagen phase).

Lifestyle

Through a process called oxidative stress, environmental aggressors (such as cigarette smoke, pollutants, UV radiation or even certain products or foods) can damage various cellular structures in the hair follicle. Oxidative stress breaks down cell tissue and causes DNA damage, which can result in inflammation. Research has shown that oxidative stress also contributes to hair loss by impairing the scalp’s ability to support healthy cell renewal, and in turn, healthy hair growth.

Nutrition

Hair cells are the second fastest-dividing cells in the human body. Each individual has roughly 120,000 hairs on their scalp, all of which require nourishment and fuel to grow and proliferate. Nutritional deficiencies, particularly in iron, zinc, Vitamin D, biotin and Vitamin B12, can impact the hair’s structure, follicle development, immune cell functioning, and ultimately, hair growth. By supporting healthy nutrition, you can support a healthy hair growth cycle.

Ageing

As we age, the body undergoes many changes and fluctuations, with our hair being no exception. Turning grey is just one of the many changes that confront our hair as we age. In fact, hair ageing affects hair colour, hair curvature, hair diameter and the structural properties of the hair fibre. Research suggests that over 52% of women will experience some form of hair loss by the age of 50, and by the age of 60, approximately 80% will undergo changes in their hair density.

  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often should I use this product?

We recommend using the Nourish and Stimulate Scalp Mask as a pre-wash treatment 1-2 times per week. This works two-fold to cultivate a healthy hair-growth environment, while also providing nourishment and restoration to the scalp.

How is this product different from a hair mask?

A hair mask focuses on nourishing and treating the hair strands, while a scalp mask is targeted at improving the health and condition of the scalp itself. The Nourish and Stimulate Scalp Mask contains active ingredients, anti-inflammatory agents and vitamins that help promote a healthy scalp environment. A healthy scalp is essential for maintaining healthy hair growth.

Is the slight tingling sensation normal?

Yes, this is completely normal and means the ingredients are effectively penetrating the scalp. Ingredients like peppermint oil and aloe vera create an energising and cooling sensation on the scalp that help stimulate hair follicles.

Should I apply the mask to a wet or dry scalp?

We recommend applying the mask to a wet scalp in the shower, before cleansing with the Strengthening Silk Protein Shampoo.

Can I use the mask while pregnant or breastfeeding?

All products are dermatologically tested, suitable to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding and cruelty free.
